Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Jim has overall responsibility for the finance organization and supports the operations of the business. Before joining Delta Risk, he served as CFO for Ocean Thermal Energy, a USA based Company with a focus on deep water hydrothermal technologies. Prior to Ocean Thermal Energy, Jim was Managing Partner and led the Business Advisory Practice for SolomonEdwards in the Greater Washington DC Metro region. Prior to joining SolomonEdwards, Jim was the President and Founder of Virtus Consulting; a boutique consulting firm which helped clients achieve their short- and long-term goals by providing financial advisory services, regulatory consulting and interim CFO and Controllership solutions. Virtus was acquired by SolomonEdwards in 2012. Working with companies both large and small, Virtus had extensive experience in financial services, banking and energy, carve-outs and pre-IPO companies preparing for audits and S1 filings, including financial modeling for investors.
Jim Garner brings over 25 years of industry experience in both the accounting and finance areas. Jim has serviced clients such as Sallie Mae, Fannie Mae, AES, Deltek and Contour Global in various capacities. Additionally, Jim has done restatement work for both Fannie Mae and MCI. He has also functioned as the SVP and Controller for InPhonic Inc. and was an integral part of their successful IPO. Prior to InPhonic, he was the US Controller for Equant, Inc. Jim is a graduate of Villanova University, a licensed CPA, and a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs. Jim is also an active volunteer in his community.
